This year’s moon cake festival starts on Sept 19

KUCHING: This year, the Sarawak Inter-Cultural Moon Cake Festival will be held for seven days, starting from September 19, along Carpenter Street, Wayang Street and at the Sarawak Tourism Complex.

The festival will be rich with traditional and contemporary performances and activities.
Along Carpenter Street, visitors will be able to indulge on a wide variety of delicacies, products and handicrafts.

Besides that, visitors will also be able to join the cultural activities, games and contests.

The historical Carpenter Street will exhilarate the taste, sight and hearing. Children will have a fun-filled time at the Children Activity Corner while adults can sit back and relax at the Bonsai Garden or a drink at the many stalls available at Carpenter Street.

Art lovers will love a variety of exhibitions, traditional calligraphy showcase, photography exhibition, cultural arts demonstrations and of course, the colourful lantern display.

The largest charity moon cake will be one of the spectacular highlights of the festival this year. The 600-kg moon cake will be cut and sold to the public and the proceeds to be given to the charitable organisations.
