Sicilian music is known for its lively dance music and soulful melodies, and Sicilian musicians in faraway lands never stray far from home as the soul of Sicily is always with them.
Performing Sicilian music the traditional way, I Beddi was formed in July 2005 with the mission to promote Sicilian music worldwide.
The present voices of their people, songs of the rural communities and seaside villages, sounds that move between traditional and innovation, old time music handed down orally, arranged for a modern audience that wants to know this beautiful culture.
Since then the band has experienced many changes, and has evolved and grown not only in the number of its members but also for the quality of its live performances, for the musical and lyrical research behind each track, which can be appreciated in their albums.
After a period of hard-to-find but precious concerts in various locations around Sicily, I Beddi, managed by Davide Urso, AKA Tamburo di Aci, are now ready to face bigger stages.
The core mission of the group is to promote and enrich Sicilian music, and adapt it to modern times keeping ancient melodies and introducing new ones, both for a laugh and out of love for their homeland,
Sicily. “..And it is for a laugh and out of love that we keep on doing what we are doing and being who we are: Sicilian musicians in distant faraway lands”.
